The Japanese Diet passed a bill to authorize casino resorts on July 20. The number of the resorts to be approved is limited up to three in the first seven years since the law’s enactment. The law stipulates that floor space of casinos must be 3% or smaller of the total development.

Integrated Resorts are multi-purpose complex of such facilities as convention and exhibition centers, tourist attractions and hotels. A local government and an investor hoping to build a resort is to establish a plan and submit to Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism for approval. (2018/07/24)
