National Technology Institute and US Lab Renews MOU on Renewable Energy

The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) of Japan and US’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory concluded Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in research and development of renewable energy. The signing ceremony was held on April 18 at the AIST headquarters in Tokyo. The two organizations will collaborate in developing optimization system of renewable energy sector such as solar, wind and power storage.
Through the works with the counterpart, AIST, which established a laboratory of renewable energy in Fukushima on April 1, intends to accelerate international collaboration in the sector. With the renewed MOU, which was first concluded in 2009, the bodies will expand their scope of collaboration, adding development of optimization system to the current sectors including solar power generation and bio-fuel technology.
At the ceremony, President Ryoji Chubachi of AIST said he aims to make the Fukushima institute one of the top research centers in the world through the collaboration with its counterpart. (2014/04/21)
