Japanese construction contractor Takenaka Corp. announced that it has been appointed as a contractor of expansion of Terminal 2 of Changi International Airport in Singapore by the airport operator CAG. To increase the passenger capacity, the airport will rearrange the departure and arrival halls as well as renovate the baggage claim and the transit hall. The completion is slated around 2024. T2 of the airport has been in use since 1991. The expansion works include renewal of automated check-in and bag drop facilities with a capacity of 2300 bags. Takenaka has constructed and renovated many buildings at Changi including T1 since its opening in 1981. (2020/1/22)
