Japan’s largest Biomass Energy Plant To Be Constructed in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture

The Tokyo-based special purpose company funded by renewable energy developer RENOVA and Tokyo Gas will construct the largest biomass power plant in Ishinomaki City, anortheastern Japanese city of Miyagi Prefecture. The 74.95 kw plant will use wood pellets and oil palm shell as fuel and produce 530,000 MW/h per year, equivalent of 170,000 households yearly consumption.
The company will begin construction of Ishinomaki Hibarino Biomass Power Plant in a full swing in November and expect it to be completed in 2023. The 40 billion yen construction works will be undertaken by Japanese engineering company JGC Holdings. (2020/03/26)
