Japan’s trading house, Marubeni Corp. announced that its subsidiary completed construction of the nation’s largest solar power generation plant in Oita Prefecture. Located in the bay of Beppu, the plant with 105ha area outputs 82 megawatt, equal to electricity consumption of 30,000 households in a year.
Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) was commissioned to Hitachi, which succeeded in completing the work 50 days earlier than the planned schedule by integrating know-hows gained through its experiences in plant engineering. The total cost was some 22.2 billion yen. (2014/04/24)
