A Japanese branch of the US movie studio Warner Bros. and four other companies announced on August 18th that they have agreed to build a theme park based on the popular movie series Harry Potter at the site of Toshimaen Amusement Park in Nerima-ku, Tokyo, which will be closed at the end of the month. The 30,000 m2 park is The agreement was concluded among the four companies; Warner Bros. Japan, the facility operator, Seibu Railway, the land owner, ITOCHU Corporation, the builder and designer, and Fuyo General Lease, the facility owner. "Warner Brothers Studio Tour Tokyo-The Making of Harry Potter" will have the film sets and props used for the Harry Potter series on display where visitors can enjoy the world of the movies. The site is part of the 26.6 hectare planned park by Tokyo Metropolitan Government. In June, the theme park operators, Metropolitan Government and Nerima-ku City signed a memorandum of cooperation for development of the park.
