Japan’s Most Advanced Green Building Under Construction in Tokyo

A 150m building with Japan’s most advanced green technologies is being developed in Minato-ku, Tokyo by a group of developers and builders. A unique solar lighting system developed by Taisei Corp., one of the project owners, which is in charge of construction will be first applied to a super high rise. Renewable energy such as solar and sewer heat will be used for electricity source, which is expected to realize the nation’s highest standard of environmental performance. About 50% of the construction has been finished and the completion is due in February 2015.
A 32 story multi-use building named “Shinagawa Season Terrace” will have 205,786m2 floor space in total, being built in the area of a sewerage treatment facility owned by Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Various eco-friendly technologies are applied such as solar lighting system; photovoltaic power generation; reuse of rainwater; high performance Low-Emissivity Glasses; LED lightings; roof and wall greening.
