Kajima Corp. announced that it developed environment-friendly concrete for steel pipes using blast furnace slag particles and lime-based admixtures as part of law materials to achieve 40% reduction of CO2 emission in the process of production. The new products has high liquidity and strength as much as 60Newton per mm2. It has been applied to four construction sites in Tokyo.
Conventional low carbon concrete with high strength using blast furnace cement as an adhesive has high viscosity and is not suitable for filler of steel pipes such as CFT, Concrete Filled Steel Tubes. KKC Concrete, newly developed by Kajima, is improved with original mixtures of materials to achieve fluidity and low emission at the same time. The emission of CO2 through production is reduced by 174kg per m3 from normal concrete such as ordinary Portland cement concrete. (2014/06/10)
