Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is accepting applications from local municipalities that intend to introduce new procedures in public procurement. The ministry will select five among applicants to showcase alternatives to existing models. Professionals in public procurement will be sent to the chosen localities to give assistance in administrative works such as preparing bidding documents. Forming the manual for local project owners based on model procurement is also included in the ministry’s plan. The newly amended law regarding public works promote introduction of various contracting methods such as multi-year or batch contracts for infrastructure management, multiple-stage selection, construction management (CM) contracts and Design-Build (DB) contracts.
