Kinki Univ. To Redevelop Its Campus in Osaka at \40 Billion by 2020

Kinki University announced on July 18 a plan toward 2020 to redevelop its campus in Higashi Osaka City that includes construction of a tower, a library and lecture buildings. Planned buildings have total 85,000m2 floor space with an estimated cost of \40 billion yen. NTT Facilities Inc. will be in charge of designing all the buildings except a house for the law school which is designed by Yasui Architects & Engineers, Inc.

The university’s plan will be undertaken in the southwest area of the campus, where now stand 40-year old administration building and several aged structures. A two-story library with 8,500m2 space and a 17,000m2 building for international students are included in the plan. (2014/07/22)
