Toyo Construction Awarded \9.3 Billion River Improvement Works in Philippines

Toyo Construction Co. announced July 22 that it was awarded two contracts of flood control works at Pasig and Marikina River in Manila, Philippines. The \9.3 billion river improvement projects, funded by Japanese Yen loan, has been undertaken aiming at completion in 2017.

Department of Public Works and Highways of the Philippines assigned the work to a joint venture of the company and Shimizu Corp. to improve 16.4km Pasig River section, while the 5.4km Marikina River section is being undertaken by Toyo itself.

Since it has first started its business in Philippines in 1973, the contractor has practiced many large-scaled river works in the country including Luzon and Leyte islands. (2014/07/23)
