Two Super High Rises of total 350,000m2 To Be Built in Otemachi, Tokyo

A redevelopment plan of Mitsui Bussan Building in central Tokyo was revealed. At the site where headquarters of Mitsui and Co., Japanese leading trade house and two other buildings stand, two super high rises with total 350,000m2 floor space will be constructed. Completing demolition of three existing structures through 2015 and 2016, the trade company and its affiliated developer, Mitsui Fudosan Co. will start construction in full swing in 2016. Completion is aimed in 2019 or 2020.

The 20,800m2 site is located near Otemachi station at a central business district of Tokyo. One building of the planned two will have five floors underground and 30 above, while the other will stand 200m tall with 41 floors. Design works are now underway. Contractors are yet to be determined. Total investment including demolition work is estimated at 170 billion yen. (2014/07/23)
