A symbol of the expanded area is an all-Japanese cypress timber bridge called “Haneda Nihon-bashi,” named after a historic bridge in central Tokyo. The 15m bridge replicates partially the original form as built 400 years ago. “Nihon-bashi Bridge is always a symbol of a journey as it was back then. I hope it will represent welcome and farewell to all travelers,” said President of Tokyo International Airport Terminal Corp. Masayuki Sakurai at the ceremony. (2014/08/29)
