International Airport unveiled a plan to renovate the terminal building and expand the boarding facilities at 200 million yen. A pedestrian bridge will also be constructed between the monorail station and the terminal. The construction will start in spring 2015 and completion is due in 2020.

This will be the first large-scaled renovation since the airport terminal opened in 1969. The airport operator intends to upgrade the airport to welcome increasing visitors toward the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Photo: Pedestrian Bridge connecting the monorail station and the terminal (2014/09/03)
