Penta Ocean Construction Corp. announced September 9 that it has been awarded a contract to build a 288,000m2 hospital in Singapore at 95.9 billion yen, the company’s largest-ever contract received outside Japan. Health ministry’s Sengkang General and Community Hospitals will have 1,400 beds in total.

This marks the fourth contract for hospital construction won by Penta Ocean in Singapore following Mt. Elizabeth Novena Hospital in 2010 and others. The company set a target of overseas order value at 132 billion yen for the fiscal year that ends in March 2015. Considering the value as of August 31 already exceeded the 154.9 billion yen, a last year’s total value of overseas order, it is most likely to break a record of 188.4 billion yen set by the contractor in 1996.
