Construction Corporate Bankruptcy Relating Labor Shortage Increased in Apr-Jun 2014

The number of bankruptcy of construction companies in April through September 2014 caused by labor shortage increased to 51 from 46 in the same period of the year earlier, a Tokyo-based research institute reported. 30% of all the short-handed related corporate failure was in the construction sector.

According to Tokyo Shoko Research, the total number of bankruptcy in construction decreased 16.7% to 1020 from the previous year, recording the 6 year consecutive decline. No bankruptcy leaving more than 10 billion yen debt reported and the total debt accounted the smallest in 20 years, 133.6 billion yen for the first half of the fiscal year. (2014/10/09)
