Three developments adjacent to each other in front of Tokyo Station are in pipeline. When completed, the total floor area of the planned buildings will reach 940,000m2. With the urban planning approval by the Metropolitan Government in 2015, the construction is slated to begin in sequence. Completion targets of each project vary from 2020 to 2023.

The 240,000m2 building will be developed in the northern block of the designated area by a redevelopment association in which construction and property businesses such as Tokyo Tatemono, Taisei and Obayashi are involved. The land owners’ association of the 1.7ha central block hired Mitsui Fudosan as a contractor to develop a 320,000m2 building, while the southern part will have a 380,000m2 structure to be built by Mitsui Fudosan and Kajima that are commissioned by a group of the land owners.

A large bus terminal will be developed underground of the three projects to enhance traffic capacity from local cities and the two international airports in the Greater Capital Area. (2014/10/24)
