Apr-Sep. Japanese Contractors’ Overseas Order Value Reached 800 Billion Yen, 2nd Largest on Record

Leading Japanese construction contractors received orders of 803.8 billion yen outside the country in April-September this year, up 12.3% from the year before, said the Overseas Construction Association of Japan (OCAJI). The value marked the second largest on record next to one in 2006 and reached more than 800 billion yen for the first time in eight years.

The value in Asia hiked 28.2% to 574.6 billion yen, the largest among all regions, where major Japanese companies are mainly targeting. Singapore secured the first place by country, comprising 28.3% of the total, followed by US, 18.2% and Thailand, 8.6%. (2014/10/30)
