Penta-Ocean Construction announced that it won a contract of a ground work at Changi Airport in Singapore by Ministry of Transport. The 95.3 billion yen contract, awarded to a joint venture of the company and a local contractor, includes ground improvement of a 700ha reclaimed land to prepare for the airport expansion work The ground work is slated for completion in 2020. The government is planning to build a new terminal and extend the existing third runway. When completed, the airport will have a world-record passenger capacity. Penta-Ocean Construction first entered the Singaporean market in 1964. The firm has established a strong presence, winning a series of new orders both in architecture and civil engineering.
