Collaborative Researchers Invited to Adopt BIM for Sanitation Projects

Japan Sewerage Works Agency has been inviting private sectors for a joint research on Building Information Modeling for sanitation projects such as sewer treatment facilities and pumping stations. The agency will select up to 20 companies such as construction contractors, civil consulting firms and plant engineering companies that can contribute to improvement of productivity in the whole process of construction from study, designing, engineering to operation and maintenance.

The research focuses on such themes as exploring trends and future directions of BIM for sewer; evaluation of existing 3D modeling software. The selected teams will conduct the studies in fiscal 2015 and technologies and methods identified in the studies will be set for demonstration in the following year. (2014/12/09)
