Three Buildings in Tokyo’s Business Center To Be Replaced by Two Super High Rises of Total 360,000m2

Mitsui & Co, a Japanese major trading house and a developer, Mitsui Fudosan Co. announced a redevelopment plan in Otemachi, Tokyo, where the trade company’s headquarters is located. Existing three buildings will be demolished in 2015 followed by construction of two super high rises of total 360,000m2 floor area in 2016. Completion is due in March 2021.

Three buildings including the 122,800m2 Mitsui’s head office building and the Mitsui Fudosan-owned commercial building stand within the 2ha block in part of Tokyo’s business center. The companies will develop a 30-story Tower A and a 41-story Tower B, which will have offices, a hotel and retail shops. It is aimed to reduce CO2 emission by 1,000 ton per year with a high-efficient heating and cooling system. (2014/12/12)
