Six Construction Leaders Accompanying Japanese PM Shinzo Abe on Middle East Tour

A group of business leaders including construction industry will visit four Middle Eastern countries from January 16 to 21 on a tour with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Six construction companies such as Shimizu, Taisei, Penta Ocean Construction and Nihon Sekkei aim to promote their infrastructure business to such countries as Egypt that has a plan to build a subway in its capital city.

Shimizu and Taisei are seeking opportunities to participate in Cairo’s subway development to be funded by Japanese ODA up to 32.7 billion yen. Taisei expressed its interest in the country’s airport development. Nihon Sekkei, which has been awarded a study of development of a pediatric hospital, intends to expand its business in Egypt.
