A private-public joint council for promoting aviation infrastructure export will hold a Japan-Indonesia bilateral seminar next year in Indonesia. The aim is to promote Japanese technology and to showcase Japan’s experiences of the industry to Indonesian government, which plans to build and expand airports in the capital area and local cities. The Land ministry intends to organize seminars in countries which have active demand in aviation infrastructure such as Thailand and Philippines.
The council established in April by the ministry and private sectors including construction contractors; Kajima Corp., Shimizu Corp., Taisei Corp., Obayashi Corp., Takenaka Corp. etc., aims to support Japanese companies to receive orders of aviation infrastructure building mainly in emerging countries in South East Asia. This will be its first event to be hold by the council.
Indonesia is one of the most highly developing countries in the region with the high economic growth rate and income level. Due to its large area of land, five times larger than that of Japan, the aviation demand is expected to grow further. It is considered such a potential market for Japanese enterprises. (2013/11/18)
