Top Japanese Construction Firms Secure Over 10 Trillion Yen Order in April-December 2014, First Time in 16 Years

Member companies of Japanese construction industry group received orders valued at 10.78 trillion yen in April-December in 2014, 7.6% up from the same period in the previous year, said Japan Federation of Construction Contractors. The April-December record exceeded 10 trillion yen for the first time in 16 years.

Orders from public sectors recorded 6.37 trillion yen, 7.4% decline from a year earlier, while public works orders increased by 39.4% to 3.65 trillion yen. The value of orders received overseas was 740.1 billion yen, recording 46% hike. (2015/1/27)
