Detailed plans of two redevelopments in the area of total three hectares in front of Tokyo station were revealed. Two buildings are planned in the northern block; an 11-story building of 12,000m2 will have offices, retail shops and a hotel; a 54-story super high rise with 224,000m2 floor spaces will have a conference center and a hospital as well as offices and shops. A real estate company, Tokyo Tatemono, two construction giants Taisei and Obayashi will be in charge of the development. Completion is slated in 2023.

The other block will have three buildings which will accommodate an elementary school, offices, shops and a hotel. One of the three buildings is to be a 245m tall high rise with 287,100m2. Construction will be undertaken between 2017 and 2021. (2014/02/16)
