Sekisui House, Toshiba, and Honda jointly exhibit at Tokyo Motor Show

Sekisui House, Ltd, Toshiba Corporation and Honda Motor Co. Ltd announced that they will jointly exhibit at the SMART MOBILITY CITY 2013 to be held from November 22 through December 1 within the venue of the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show, aiming at the realization of a future Smart House initiative. They will propose a future lifestyle where deeper links among houses, electric appliances and automobiles make people's lives more secure, more convenient and more fun.

Sekisui House will exhibit how advanced technologies of Toshiba and Honda are incorporated in houses it builds. In addition, Home Energy Management System, or HEMS and “Smart Healthcare Support system” which is now under demonstration are to be introduced to propose future housing ideas to provide residents with safety and security in various forms including health care and nursing care.

Toshiba will introduce a stable supply of renewable energy through the utilization of batteries and management of Electric Vehicle (EV) recharging. Honda Motor will exhibit “the MC-beta,” a micro-sized short distance EV commuter and “the FCX Clarity,” a fuel cell electric vehicle that enables to supply external electric power from the car to the home.

COO of Sekisui House, Toshinori Abe said at the press conference on November 21, “Relationship between fuel cell vehicles and houses will bring a big advance to technology in the energy field. We aim to provide smart houses of higher standards because development of smart houses is necessary for use of fuel cell cars to spread.” (2013/11/22)
