Japan’s Kajima Secured 55 Billion Yen Contract to Build Hospital in Singapore

Japanese leading construction company, Kajima Corp. announced on February 19 that its overseas subsidiary was awarded a contract to build a total 192,812m2 medical complex in Singapore. The contract is valued at 55 billion yen. Completion is due in 2018.

The National Center for Infectious Diseases consists of a 14 story hospital and a 9 story medical institute, which will be located in Novena area in northern downtown Singapore. The facility is positioned as a core of Singaporean government’s conception, “Health City Novena.”

Kajima Overseas Asia was selected by an international competitive bidding, where it competed with Korean and local firms. Cost and construction period reduction measures proposed by Kajima were highly valuated, which resulted in the company’s win. (2015/02/20)
