As demolition of the National Stadium in Tokyo is under way, the site was shown to the press on March 5. Heavy machineries were tearing down the stands at the moment, clearing the land to build a new stadium to host 2019 Rugby World Cup and 2020 Olympic Games. Demolition is schedule to complete in September.
The work started in December 2014. Two contractors; Kanto Kensetsu Kogyo and Fujimura are each responsible for two separated packages. Construction of the new stadium is to begin in October, which is expected to complete in March 2019. (2015/03/06)
