Zenitaka Corp. has won a contract of building a bridge across the Nile River in Uganda jointly with Hyundai Construction of South Korea at the cost of 12.6 billion yen. Funded by Japanese yen loan, Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) chose Zenitaka-Hyundai Joint Venture through international bidding for construction of a 525 meter long cable stayed bridge and approach roads of 2.1 kilometers in Jinja in South-eastern part of the country. The work will start in January 2014 and is scheduled to complete in December 2017.

The first cable-stayed bridge in East Africa, located in the headwater of the Nile, will have a central span of 290m and end spans of 135m and 100m on each bank respectively with the 70m-high pylon.
