Japan’s ORIX, France’s Vinci Together To Bid for Concession of Two Osaka Airports

Japanese leasing company, ORIX Corp. and France-based Vinci Airports agreed on cooperation in bidding for rights to operate two international airports in Osaka region. The companies will jointly move on to the first procedure of the bidding of 45-year operation of the airports, possibly the highest value of concession ever to be sold to private sector in Japan.

Vinci Airports, one of the largest airport operators in the world, is currently involved in development and operation of 24 airports in France, Portugal and Cambodia. The concession project of Osaka International Airport and Kansai International Airport will launch in January 2016. Minimum bidding price is 2.2 trillion yen. The winning bidder will be selected in July. (2015/05/07)
