Penta-Ocean Construction awarded contract of building Singapore metro at 26.8 billion yen.

Penta-Ocean Construction Co. Ltd. announced on December 12 that it won a 26.8 billion yen contract of building the northernmost station and connecting tunnels of new Singapore Metro “Thomson Line.” The company will break ground in January 2014, aiming at completion in September 2019.

The fifth contract awarded to Penta-Ocean Construction by Land Transport Authority of Singapore includes civil works for a pair of one-kilometer tunnels by Slurry Shield Tunneling Machines and “Woodlands North Station.”

The 30-km long Thomson Line will connect Woodlands District in the north and Marina Bay area in the south. Procurement for civil work is divided in 25 packages, which are now under bidding process. (2013/12/13)
