Japanese SMEs in Construction Industry Looking to Vietnamese Market, MLIT Says

All of the 16 Japanese small and medium-sized construction companies which participated in delegation led by the Land Ministry last December have intention to launch their businesses in Vietnam by 2017, says MLIT. Two of them were awarded subsidy by Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA to conduct a feasibility study, while five have employed Vietnamese as liaison officers working in the country.

The delegation visited the Vietnamese government agencies and local construction companies and attended Vietnam-Japan Construction Meeting in December 1-5, 2014. MLIT has helped these companies establish their overseas business plans.

Funded by JICA, Kagawa Prefecture-based Murakami Gumi will explore possibility to introduce technologies of soil improvement in embankment construction to local companies in Mekong Delta region. Takeuchi Kensetsu in Hiroshima Prefecture will implement JICA-supported study on introduction of the company’s technology of foundation work for soft ground. (2015/05/25)
