Japanese leading cement maker Taiheiyo Cement Corp. developed new material that enables to enhance the strength of concrete up to 500 Newton per square mm, the strongest in the world. A small particle of which Taiheiyo does not disclose the detail is used for the first time as part of admixtures.

The company started development of cement that can create 400-500 N/mm2 concrete in 2014. While even stronger concrete as tough as 673 N/mm2 which requires a special placement procedure with high temperature and pressure was realized overseas, the Taiheiyo’s new product is applicable to commonly used concrete forms and conventional placement according to the company.
