Japan Broadcasting Corporation or NHK announced a plan to rebuild the broadcasting center in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo with the investment of about 340 billion yen. The work of the center of planned 260,000 m2 total floor space is scheduled to start in 2020 and NHK aims to start its operation in 2025.

The present center consists of the 23 story main building built in 1972, the East wing, the West wing, the North wing and the concert hall in the area of 82,000m2 with the total floor area of all the buildings of 228,000m2. (2014/01/17)
