Japanese builder Kajima Corp. developed the world’s first energy regenerating anti-earthquake dampers for super tall buildings. Seismic energy stored in the part of the damper will strengthen the resisting power of the equipment against earthquakes. The seismic control performance of the new product quadruples from conventional oil dampers according to Kajima.

The new damper system called HiDAX-R equipped at the core on the lower floor will be able to control from vibration induced by strong wind to huge earthquakes up to Japanese seismic scale 7. The product can reduce the width of shakes by half and the time until the tremor disappears. (2015/07/28)
