Japanese trading giant Mitsui & Co. announced that it will participate in the project to develop an industrial zone in Iskandar, Malaysia. Together with Malaysia-Singapore joint venture NTP, the firm will build rental warehouses and factories targeting at Japanese businesses in the 10 ha part of the total 210 ha Nusajaya Tech Park. The total investment is 10.7 billion yen. The total floor area of planned buildings is expected to reach 100,000m2.
Nusajaya Tech Park being developed with assistance of Malaysian and Singaporean governments is located near the Singaporean border, a part of massive newly-developed Iskandar, which have seen a sharp increase of investment from the manufacturing industry. Mitsui and its partner aim to invite 200 businesses in the park, offering build-to-suit warehouses and factories, residential and retail areas in the three phases. (2015/07/29)
