National Cardiovascular Center in Osaka announced that it awarded a contract to design and build a total 125,780 m2 new hospital and research center to a group led by Takenaka Corp. through the international competitive bidding. The contract value is 52.9 billion yen.
The center will relocate the current hospital to the 30,585 m2 plot in Suita city. The new structure will adopt seismic base isolation system. Japanese firm AX Satow was responsible for the basic design. Completion of construction is due in June 2019. (2015/08/06)
