Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway selected a joint venture led by Obayashi Corp. to renew a 50-year-old deteriorated section on Route No.1 connecting Haneda International Airport and Japanese capital city. The 73.9 billion yen contract won by the group of major Japanese construction companies including Obayashi and Shimizu includes design and construction of the total 1.9 km section consisting of a 1.3 km bridge and approach roads. The construction is expected to begin February 2016 and complete in July 2025. (2015/08/07)
