200-Year-Old Castle Dungeon in Aomori To Be Moved 80 Meters in Two Month

The work to relocate Japanese feudal castle Hirosaki-Jo 80 meters to the temporary site begun on August 16 in Aomori Prefecture, where it gets repair on its stone walls. The 400-ton dungeon, the designated National Important Cultural Asset to be moved slowly for two months is to be back in the original spot after the repair in 2021.

The massive stone walls repair which launched last year will take another nine year period to complete. The structure relocation is being undertaken by local-based Nishimuragumi. (2015/08/18)
