Yokohama City announced on August 31 that it awarded a design, build, operate contract of a MICE complex to a group led by Takenaka Corp. at 37.8 billion yen. The group will construct the six-story convention and exhibition center with total floor area of 44,000m2 and a 14-story hotel with 45,000m2 floor space. Completion is expected in March 2020 and the Takenaka group will operate the facility for ten years after completion. The planned site is adjacent to the existing convention center Pacifico Yokohama in Minato Mirai Area. (2015/09/01)
