Bridgestone To Have New Headquarters Building, Museum In Kyobashi, Tokyo

Japanese tire maker Bridgestone will rebuild its headquarters in Kyobashi, Tokyo in 2016. The building designed by Nikken Sekkei will have Bridgestone Museum in the lower floors and offices in the upper floors.

Demolition of the old Bridgestone building has been undertaken by Toda Corp. with completion expected in January 2016. The new building will have 47,100m2 total floor space with a height of 150 m. Commencement of the new headquarters is due in 2020.

The land owner Nagasaka Sangyo, an affiliated company of Bridgestone filed a proposal of the project to Tokyo Metropolitan Government jointly with Toda Corp, which owns an adjacent land and plans to construct a 101,500m2 high rise to replace its headquarters. (2015/09/15)
