Japanese Land Ministry to Strengthen Promotion of Eco-City Development in Emerging Markets

Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will strengthen assistance in the next fiscal year starting in April 2016 to private sectors which look to exporting environmental-friendly or Eco-City development overseas. Japanese advanced technologies regarding energy saving and renewable energy will be promoted at the early stage of development. The ministry will increase the number of Eco-City Seminars to be held overseas.

In cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency and Japan Bank for International Cooperation, the ministry will provide information regarding technical assistance and funding to the counterparty countries. It is considered promotion in the early stage can give an advantage over competing countries such as South Korea and Singapore. Japan has track records in public and private cooperation for Eco City development in China and Vietnam. (2015/10/07)
