Top Japanese Construction Firms Receive Orders in April-September 2015 Valued 4.8% Down

Japanese leading construction companies received orders of 6.99 trillion yen in April-September 2015, down 4.8% from the same term in the previous year, announced Japan Federation of Construction Contractors. Despite a significant drop in public works, strong private investment underpinned the total value.

Domestic orders received by 98 member companies of the group decreased by 1.4% to 6.8 trillion yen, which consisting 4.9 trillion yen private works and 1.88 trillion yen public works. Value of orders from government and public institutions declined significantly by 28.6% from the year earlier. (2015/11/02)
