Japanese largest photovoltaic power plant Eurus Rokkasho Solar Park has completed on November 10 in Aomori, northern Japan. Eurus Energy Holdings, which has focused mainly on wind power generation, is set to launch the first Mega Solar in Aomori Prefecture. The 115-MW plant has some 510,000 solar panels at the two sites totaling more than 250 ha. The contractor Shimizu Corp. broke ground in August 2013 with the contract valued at 41 billion yen.
To develop the vast area, Shimizu applied advanced technologies and equipment such as a GPS-equipped bulldozer and a small aircraft with a camera that can measure the land in the air. The company has been actively promoting its renewable energy businesses such as PV power generation, off-shore wind power and geothermal plant. (2015/11/11)
