Japan and U.S. will jointly assist Asian developing countries in infrastructure development. The two countries will hold a seminar on construction together in Manila, Philippines in March 2016, aiming to share such information as the nation’s upcoming infrastructure projects, legislative system and funding. Networking among private businesses of the three countries is to be targeted as well. Japan-U.S. cooperation will be explored further beyond Philippines starting with the seminar.

The U.S. Department of Commerce and Japanese Infrastructure Ministry agreed on cooperation when the top officials of the two sides met in Tokyo last March. The event is expected to attract total 120 participants from the three nations including Japanese construction contractors, consulting firms, design firms and developers. The topics to be discussed will include business model development for PPP infrastructure projects. (2015/12/3)
