Japan Sports Council started on February 3 accepting expression of interest in design works for its headquarters and Nippon-Seinenkaikan building, which are to be moved and reconstructed due to construction of New National Stadium in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo. The contractor will be selected based on quality and cost proposals by mid-April.

A 17-story building with 48,000m2 floor area will be built in a former tennis court area of 6,800m2. The current Nippon-Seinenkaikan site will be set aside for New National Stadium, a main venue for 2020 Olympic Games. The building is scheduled for completion in the end of FY2016. (2014/02/04)
