Mori Building To Develop Three High-Rises in Toranomon Area, Tokyo

Japanese real estate developer Mori Building Co. announced April 13 a plan to add a super high rise by 2022 in Toranomon area in Tokyo where the company is developing two with completion aimed in 2019. The newly announced project will be constructed upon a planned new metro station on Hibiya Line. When all the three skyscrapers completed, the properties owned by Mori will reach 800,000 floor areas in total including existing “Toranomon Hills.” The total investment is estimated at 400 billion yen.

Toranomon Hills Station Tower which is designed by OMA headed by the world’s renowned architect Rem Koolhaas will have offices and a hotel, while the two buildings,36-story Toranomon Hills Business Tower and 56-story Toranomon Hills Residential Tower are designed by German architect Christoph Ingenhoven. President of Mori Building Shingo Tsuji said at the press conference on the day, “Toranomon will become a new metropolitan center in Tokyo integrating various functions such as business, hotels and retails.
