Work Starts to Build 180,000m2 New Hotel Okura in Tokyo

Hotel Okura broke ground to rebuild its flagship hotel in Toranomon, Tokyo on June 1. Taisei Corp. will construct two buildings totaling 180,097m2 floor space, a 38-story high rise and a 13-story building, designed by a group of six architects and design firms including Taisei, Yoshio Taniguchi, and Nihon Sekkei with an aim to complete in June 2019. The high rise building will have 64,000m2 offices on 5th-22th floor as well as hotel rooms on the upper floors. (2016/6/2)
