Tokyo-based Hitachi Construction Machinery launched the country’s largest demonstration site for ICT-integrated product line-ups at a factory in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Customers can demonstrate such machines as half-automatic hydraulic excavators that correspond with Infrastructure Ministry’s productivity improvement policy “i-Construction.”

The site was built in 1.4ha of the unused plot of Hitachinaka Factory. The inauguration ceremony was held on October 3 at the site with participation of the company executives, municipality and ministry officials. “To tackle labor shortage in the construction industry, we develop semi-auto machines that unskilled worker can operate”, said President Yuichi Tsujimoto.
