Urban Renaissance Agency (UR) awarded a contract to Obayashi Corp. to design and build a 150,000m2 tower in Otemachi-district near Tokyo Station. The competitive bids were open on March 3, where Obayashi submitted a tender at 53.9 billion yen. The 32 story building is scheduled for completion in May 2016.

The re-development project planned by UR and NTT Urban Development Corp. at the site of Teishin Building, the former Tokyo International Post Office includes two buildings totaling 345,000m2 floor space. Obayashi will be in charge of developing one of them. The builder after demolishing the existing structures will design and construct the Tower B. (2014/03/05)
